Posted By The Dream Ranch On 2025-01-28
If you are planning for a Countryside wedding this will help you plan your event.
A countryside wedding is the epitome of charm, serenity, and romance. Surrounded by open skies, lush greenery, and a peaceful atmosphere, it’s the perfect setting for a magical celebration. Here’s a step-by-step guide to planning your dream countryside wedding.
Step 1: Choose the Perfect Countryside Venue
Start by finding a venue that reflects your vision. Options include:
- A picturesque farmhouse or barn
- A vineyard or orchard
- Open fields with a marquee or tent setup
- A rustic estate with gardens and rolling hills
The Dream Ranch event venue located in Wolfe city, Dallas, TX, is a ranch of 36 acres with eye catching views, full of greenery, open skies, so many picturesque locations on property.
Don’t miss out this country-side venue if you are planning an event anywhere in DFW metroplex area. https://dreamranchevents.com
Tips:
- Consider guest accessibility and accommodation nearby.
- Ensure the venue has essentials like power, parking, and restroom facilities.
At The Dream Ranch venue, it’s very fortunate that there is onsite accommodation available for up to 16-20 guests. More accommodation is available for 20 more guests as we collaborated with another Airbnb house which is 5 min away. This is a very convenient option for guests. Backup generators are also available for house which turns on automatically if power goes off and a small generator at venue. Starlink is available for WiFi so there is no interruption to internet in this digital world. Ample of parking with concrete and gravel areas so even if it rains there is no issue with parking.
Step 2: Decide on a Theme and Style
Countryside weddings are versatile. Choose a theme to tie everything together:
- Rustic Elegance: Wooden accents, fairy lights, and natural textures.
- Garden Party: Floral decor, pastel tones, and an airy atmosphere.
- Vintage Charm: Antique furniture, lace details, and muted colors.
Pair your theme with a color palette inspired by the countryside—earthy greens, soft blues, or sunny yellows.
Step 3: Set a Realistic Budget
Countryside weddings can be cost-effective but often require additional planning. Key expenses to budget for:
- Venue rental and setup
- Transportation for guests if the location is remote
- Decor and rentals (tables, chairs, tents)
- Catering and bar services
- Photography and entertainment
Step 4: Hire Local Vendors
Support local businesses while simplifying logistics. Look for:
- Caterers: Farm-to-table menus or food trucks for a relaxed vibe.
- Florists: Use seasonal blooms or wildflowers for an organic touch.
- Bakers: A simple, naked cake adorned with fresh flowers or fruits.
At The Dream Ranch we collaborate with local vendor friends as they provide high quality services at reasonable prices. A preferred vendors list is shared with clients once the venue booking is completed. For quick reference we also have a vendor spotlight section website so prospect clients will have an opportunity to learn about the vendors as a head start.

Step 5: Plan the Decor
Countryside weddings thrive on natural beauty. Enhance the setting with:
- Lighting: String lights, lanterns, or chandeliers for evening celebrations.
- Tablescapes: Wooden tables, mismatched plates, and linen runners.
- Arches: Floral or greenery-adorned arches for the ceremony.
- Personal Touches: DIY signage, family heirlooms, or photos displayed creatively.
Step 6: Create a Comfortable Atmosphere
Countryside settings can be unpredictable, so plan for guest comfort:
- Provide blankets or wraps for cooler evenings.
- Rent fans or portable heaters based on the season.
- Offer bug spray or sunscreen for outdoor ceremonies.
At Dream Ranch, considering Texas weather we understand the up and down temperatures. That’s why we provide standing heaters upon rent so host can monitor the weather closely and rent these as needed.
Step 7: Choose the Right Attire
Your attire should reflect the relaxed, romantic vibe of the countryside:
- Bride: Flowing gowns with lace, floral details, or bohemian touches.
- Groom: Light-colored suits, suspenders, or a relaxed blazer.
- Bridal Party: Soft, mismatched dresses or earthy tones for cohesion.
Step 8: Incorporate Natural Elements
Highlight the beauty of the countryside in your wedding details:
- Ceremony Backdrop: Use trees, a scenic view, or a floral arch.
- Tablescapes: Add greenery, fruits, or potted plants.
- Favors: Mini jars of jam, local honey, or potted herbs.
Step 9: Plan Entertainment with a Countryside Twist
Keep guests engaged with activities like:
- Lawn games (cornhole, bocce, or croquet).
- A live folk or acoustic band.
- A cozy bonfire with s’mores and storytelling.
At The Dream Ranch event venue, a cocktail area with artificial turf is one of the most popular area to setup yard games, and if there are kids at party there is an empty stable that can be used to setup some art activities to keep small kids engaged.
Step 10: Prepare for the Unexpected
Countryside weddings often involve nature’s unpredictability:
- Have a backup plan for rain with tents or indoor options.
- Communicate dress codes to guests based on the terrain (e.g., avoid heels if it’s grassy).
At The Dream Ranch, in addition to multiple outdoor event spaces there is a spacious indoor hall where both the ceremony and reception can be done indoors if outdoor ceremony is not possible due to inclement weather conditions. And during summer months, we have another alternate event space under the shade of huge trees so no matter which month the event date is, we always have an alternate plan.
Step 11: Capture the Beauty
Hire a photographer who can showcase the stunning countryside setting. Opt for golden-hour shots to highlight the natural light and scenery.
Closing Thoughts
A countryside wedding offers endless opportunities for creativity, intimacy, and unforgettable memories. By embracing the natural beauty and adding personal touches, you’ll create a celebration that’s as timeless as the countryside itself. Whether it’s under the open sky or in a cozy barn, your countryside wedding is bound to be magical.
